Sunday 2nd August Medal. Our winner this month was Lady’s Captain, Sue Finlan. Gross 86 Nett 61. Competition was completed using White Tees and Yellow Tees for Ladies.

Today’s competition was played in beautiful, occasionally cloudy and gentle wind, quickly reaching the mid 20C temperature. Once again, a far cry from the sustained mid 30 C temperatures experienced for the past 6 weeks of so.

The ground conditions generally, as well as approaching the greens, presented the unusual challenges more associated with playing on uneven concrete. Overall some very impressive results from the 17 participants.

Some members will have noticed if they visited England Golf that Sue’s score has an ESR correction.

An ESR is defined as a bonus reduction to a Handicap Index because that player produced an exceptional score. It’s automatic, immediate, and designed to keep handicap’s accurate when the underlying ability has improved.
