Hedsor Golf Club – Sunday, September 14th
A spirited day of golf and generosity unfolded at Hedsor Golf Club on Sunday, September 14th, as members and guests gathered for the annual Captain’s Charity Day in support of Thames Valley Air Ambulance—a vital emergency service funded entirely by donations.
🌬️ Conditions & Format
Despite windy but dry conditions, the course played beautifully, with 50 players teeing off in a shotgun start. Two groups began on four separate holes to ensure a smooth and sociable pace of play.

The format was team Stableford, with the two best scores on each hole counting towards the final team total. The competitive spirit was matched by a strong sense of camaraderie throughout the day.

- 🥈 Runners-Up: Keith Simms, Steve Wing, Gary Luxon & Dave Chaplin– 89 points
- 🏌️♂️ John Barton Trophy (Best Individual Score): Brian Benzie – 39 points
- 🎯 Nearest the Pin: Roger Greaves on the 16th hole

🎟️ Fundraising & Community
The clubhouse was buzzing post-round, with a raffle, Captain’s drive and donation station helping raise £640 for Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Prizes included golf gear, bottles and local experiences generously donated by members and sponsors.

“Thames Valley Air Ambulance saves lives every day, and it’s humbling to know our golf day can help keep them flying. Thank you to everyone who played, donated, and made this day so special.”We had a fantastic turnout for our annual charity day with a total of 13 Four ball teams with a partial shot gun start using the par 4 tees. 52 players. The best ever in number of Tees in use. The Course had once again been been preparded and groomed beyond expectation of all concerned.
