Each year, Hedsor Golf Club proudly supports a charity close to our hearts, and for 2025, we are thrilled to announce that our Captain’s Charity will be the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. This incredible service is vital to our community, providing life-saving air support when every second counts.
As a club, we believe in making a positive impact beyond the fairways, and we are excited to rally behind such a worthy cause. Whether through direct donations, fundraising events, or spreading awareness, your support will help ensure this critical service continues to save lives in our region.
Why Support Thames Valley Air Ambulance?
Thames Valley Air Ambulance is a life-saving charity that provides critical care when it’s needed most. But what sets them apart is that they are completely independent. Unlike many public services, they do not receive regular government or NHS funding. Instead, they rely entirely on the generosity of supporters like you.
Every donation helps fund their vital operations, ensuring they can respond to emergencies across our community, bringing expert medical care at a moment’s notice. From heart attacks to accidents, the air ambulance team’s quick response can mean the difference between life and death.
But running this service comes at a significant cost, and that’s why your support is so crucial. By supporting our charity events this year, you’ll help keep this essential service airborne and ready to save lives when it matters most.
Greg Lee’s Ball Collection Efforts: Turning Lost Balls Into Lifesaving Funds
Many of you will already know about our former Captain, Greg Lee’s incredible ball-collecting efforts here at Hedsor Golf Club. Over the past months, Greg has diligently collected thousands of lost golf balls across the course. These balls are then sold in the clubhouse, with the proceeds going straight to Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
In 2024, Hedsor Golf Club’s efforts raised significant funds for The Outward Bound Trust, and much of that success can be attributed to one individual’s dedication. Greg’s ball-collecting initiative was a true testament to how small actions can lead to substantial results, raising hundreds of pounds for the charity.
This year, we’re hopeful that the momentum will continue, with Greg’s efforts inspiring even more generosity. If last year’s success is any indication, we’re on track to make 2025’s fundraiser for Thames Valley Air Ambulance even bigger and better. Every contribution, no matter the size, adds up to create an impact that can save lives.
This initiative has been a massive success, raising significant funds for the charity. What’s even more inspiring is that this simple act of gathering lost balls has now become a major contributor to our Captain’s Charity efforts. Greg’s dedication shows that every action can add up to make a big impact—just like every pound you donate
The Captain’s Charity Bunker
We’ve made it even easier to support Thames Valley Air Ambulance during your visits to Hedsor Golf Club. The Captain’s Charity Bunker is now clearly marked with a new sign, reminding everyone to donate just £1 after their round. Every little bit adds up, and this simple act can have a lasting impact.
You’ll also find a collection tin in the clubhouse bar, where you can drop in your donation while enjoying a post-game drink with fellow members. These small contributions make a huge difference to the life-saving work Thames Valley Air Ambulance does every day.
Let’s come together as a community and help raise the funds needed to keep this vital service running—every pound counts!
